THE KILIMANJARO 2016 CHALLENGE
It’s this #oneactofkindness that keeps the #girlchild in school
Nelson Mandela Square has joined forces with the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s Trek4Mandela fundraising initiative that will see 46 passionate South Africans summit Kilimanjaro on Mandela Day, Monday July 18, 2016 for a very special cause: To improve the lives of thousands of South African schoolgirls by raising enough funds to ensure that they do not miss another day of school due to the lack of sanitary protection.
“We want to make our contribution to help those in need.” says Annamarie De Carvalho and spokesperson for Nelson Mandela Square (NMS), “and that is why we are extending #oneactofkindness to schoolgirls in our community with the launch of our #oneactofkindness keeps the #girlchild in school campaign in conjunction with Trek4Mandela on Friday, 1 July 2016.
Richard Mabaso, Founder and CEO of the Imbumba Foundation and driving force behind Trek4Mandela, is delighted with the Nelson Mandela Square partnership. “A huge part of our campaign is about creating awareness of the enormous need that exists and having a high profile brand such as Nelson Mandela Square as a partner goes a long way in creating that awareness and increasing our ability to make a real difference to the lives of young girls in South Africa.”
