Winston Ridge Park, home of the Atholl parkrun, was the focus of our A Re Sebetseng community volunteer clean up on Saturday, February 16
We all pitched in to clean the area around the Scout Hall

And got down and dirty at the riverbank
Many bags of litter were collected
Trees in the area were pruned and invasive species and weeds were removed
The restoration of our park is of great importance to the community as a whole. There are few green spaces left where residents can safely enjoy the outdoors and where birdlife can thrive. It is a work in progress and there is much to do. If we don’t take action the park will be lost to vagrants and encroached upon by urban sprawl.
If you would like to get involved in the park restoration, please contact Jean Baillie 082 452 1110
AIIWE who provided security through their Beagle Watch division and their Environmental team and our  two residents’ associations AARRA and SSRRA
