History
AIIWE is a community-based security initiative formed in 2011 by a group of volunteer residents to add a layer of public space security to the suburbs of Atholl, Inanda, Illovo, Winston Ridge and Elton Hill .
Structure
AIIWE operates through a registered and audited Non-Profit Company, subscribing to the principles of accountability, transparency and good governance. The AIIWE Company has been conferred Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) status by SARS.
As a PBO, AIIWE can offer contributing residents a tax rebate certificate for contributions made to AIIWE for public space security, providing an element of financial relief to their recurring household costs.
Participation on the AIIWE committee is open to any paid-up volunteer residents of the AIIWE suburbs.
As AIIWE residents we share common goals
Secure lifestyles for everyone – residents, their families and friends and property owners
Reduction of crime
Maximising community involvement with the two Residents’ Associations
Well-maintained suburbs with a well-functioning infrastructure
The development of open spaces that residents can enjoy and where they can engage with each other
Ensuring that the collective activities increase property values
