WHY A SINGLE SECURITY PROVIDER FOR OUR SUBURBS?
- Professional advice obtained from a wide range of senior police management and security experts unequivocally recommended that a single service provider (SSP) is the best security solution for a successful multi-suburb initiative such as AIIWE:
- It ensures accountability for the delivery of security services by removing the ability for blame shifting between multiple service providers;
- It secures a higher level of commitment from the appointed security company, as the economic incentive to provide excellent services is maximised;
- It places the collective power back with the community;
- Fragmenting our security solution with multiple service providers will dilute the overall service offering and hinder accountability.
WHY BEAGLE WATCH?
- Beagle Watch purchased AIIWE’s previous service provider, CSS, and the existing CSS/AIIWE Service Level Agreement (SLA) transferred to them.
- AIIWE proactively engaged with Beagle Watch and together conducted a security audit of the AIIWE area and reviewed the services contained in the original CSS SLA.
- A comprehensive revision of the security services and resources was agreed and inserted into a new SLA concluded between AIIWE and Beagle Watch in early 2018 which entailed a substantial increase in resources, equipment and manpower to fully protect our suburbs.
- To secure an immediate benefit to all residents, AIIWE successfully negotiated with Beagle Watch to deploy the proposed improved services without an upfront payment to cover costs, nor an upfront commitment of a minimum level of subscribers. Beagle Watch’s willingness to provide the new and enhanced security services at their own financial risk illustrated a substantial financial commitment and notable goodwill to the AIIWE residents.
- Beagle Watch also agreed to contribute R50 per month from each Beagle Watch armed response customer’s payment to the two RA’s to fund some of the work they do for AIIWE residents, e.g deal with councils, by laws, building plans, development plans etc.
